      Hello
      I’m new to this forum .
      I’ve been trying to find out about how to change a layout from Left to Right layout to Right to Left layout. I have all Adobe CC 2018. I’ve worked out how to use the adobe world ready paragraph composer, and to right align the text boxes.
      I’ve read on this forum about the plug-in on in tools “world-tool pro”, and wondering whether it’s still relevant with adobe cc 2018, as the post was written a while ago. Also, alot of the documents I’m working with aren’t that many pages long, approx 20 or so. Would anyone be able to say if it would be quicker using the script or not, better to do it manually??
      Any advice would be much appreciated.

      Two options, really:
      1/ I’m pretty sure a CC subscription allows you to download the Middle East version of InDesign, which includes all the tools needed for reversing the layout to run right to left (menu item under Layout > Reverse Layout).
      2/ The World Tools plugins (I think they still work for CC2018), which “reveal” all the Middle East functionality in non-ME versions of InDesign, and also give a palette which groups most of the relevant functions in one place. (In the standard Middle East version, the right-to-left features are in their “logical” places, e.g. the Character palette for features applying to characters, the Story palette for story direction etc.)

      As for scripts, I’ve converted a lot of InDesign files to run RTL for Arabic, and never had cause to use a script.

      There are a lot of “gotchas” with converting documents for Arabic, so get a native speaker to confirm you’re doing the right thing!

      Good luck,
      Chris.

      Hi, I recently changed my english indesign to the middle eastern version.All the menues will still be in english, but you will get a lot more options, including easily swith the binding even in already existing documents. This will make the pagenumbers go right to left, and visually show the spine in the right position in the pages panel.

      * uninstall indesign (it’s not as scary as it sounds)
      * go in to your adobe profile, change your preferred application language to english arabic.
      * install indesign

      You can now change your language back, but remember to toggle it if updating.

      important: if you are going to send theese to a printer, make sure they know what they are doing. Remember; they are just going to get single pages, and need to know how to put it together on their sheets for folding and cutting.

      Another important tip: assuming you are going to be working in latin languages most of the time, you want to have a western settings as the default. To do this, open idesign and *without having a document open* make changes in fonts, text-cursor, binding, and any other place you can find to have it the usual way. Don’t forget to go into basic paragraph style and change the language setting there.
