      Actually it’s a very simple thing, I never know what I do while working in a doc that my background goes black all the time. So, I have to go to preferences and change it to default color.

      I want to know what this is for and what’s the shortcut that I’m messing up. Also if there’s any shortcut to change it back without going to preferences.

      Are you ending up in Presentation mode, black background with no menus etc?
      If you are the shortcut to get there is Shift W and ESC to get out.

      VIEW > SCREEN MODE > PRESENTATION

      Can you tell us which background you’re having trouble with? The pasteboard, the document (paper) background, or a background color that you’ve added to the document? There could be different reasons for each of these.

      That is definitely strange. I know how to change it in Presentation mode (see link below), but I don’t know what shortcut might be changing it in Preview mode. Are you somehow turning on/off View > Match Pasteboard to Theme Color?
