      Hi all,

I have a Paragraph Style set up for ‘Project details’. The Character Colour within this style is set to black. There are a few instances where we are using this text over dark images and I need to set this text to white. When I apply my Character Style to the list to paint it white, it doesn’t apply this to the bullets themselves.

Is there a way around this, or should I resort to creating a ‘Project details, white’ paragraph style?

Ideally, I’d like an option in ‘Paragraph Styles > Bullets and numbering > Character Style’ where I select ‘inherit’.

Bullets follow the formatting of the text that follow it. If you change the text colour the bullet will also change.
If you add a character style to your bullets in the paragraph style this will over ride other formatting you set manually.

When you add a character style manually to text the bullet does not follow this formatting.

So in your case I think you will need to create a second paragraph style to apply the colour you require.

Concur with what Graham said. I tried and the only way for that bullet to become white is if you make the text white without using a character style. If you use a character style it won’t work.

As Graham said–I think you need to create a separate paragraph style.
