I have a spelling error on the file name of one of the files in my Book. I’ld really like to change the name of that file.
I have looked for a way to change it inside Indesign. Don’t find any way to do that. I even closed the program entirely and then changed the name in Windows file Explorer.
Then from there I opened Indesign again and then removed the file from the list in the book panel. It still had the spelling error. So after removing the file and then adding a new file; the one with the spelling correction in the name. I open the TOC and deleted the contents of that page. I then recreated a new TOC and upon completion it notified me that the TOC had been updated successfully.
The problem is that the new updated TOC still has the misspelled name in it even though there is no such file anywhere because I renamed it outside of the program. And yes I did check the “Replace existing TOC” box when I made the new TOC
Is there some way to make it stop doing that?
