Creating multiple indices / indexes is an issue that comes up every year for a project I work on. The project is a directory that contains an index by name and a second index by company. Since 2009 indices have been generated with a workaround where I create an index twice, one for names, and one for companies, save two ID files, and cut and paste into a third and final file.
I’m working on CC 2014 and am curious to know if there’s been a better solution for this. I’ve poked around and noticed some scripts and plug-ins for further complex uses.
Does anyone have any advice?
I hope someone responds. I have an almost identical situation and am new to InDesign. I had it down in Quark, but starting over now.
