I am creating a photo page. The 8.5×11 page is filled with picture boxes for two 3x5s and six 2.5×3 prints. I would like to use the same image file for both sizes but i want to scale and crop the 3x5s different than the 2.5x3s.

Is there a way to tell InDesign that when the Data Merge places the images in the picture boxes the 3x5s get scaled 27% and the 2.5x3s get scaled 16%? I would also like the images to be not centered in the picture boxes. I have not been able to accomplish this with any of the Content Placement Options in the Data Merge palette menu.

Am I missing something or is this not possible?

I guess my only other option would be to batch crop all my images in Photoshop specifically for the 3x5s and also for the 2.5x3s which would create multiple files and make creating my CSV file a bit more complicated.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

You can’t really specify a particular percentage when importing using data merge. You can only use the Fitting features (Fill Proportionally, etc.).

Thank you, David. I really appreciate your timely reply.

Can you think of a better solution than batch creating separate sized files for my 3x5s and 2.5x3s?

      Thanks again.
