Claudio gave some advice several weeks ago regarding an InDesign document. He said I could flow one ID document into another, just like placing a PDF.
Only quibble is … I’d have to manually click 302 pages to place them, then go back and readjust. If there a way to “flow” all of the InDesign pages, like I would flow a word document.
Yeah, yeah, how lazy can ya get? But I’ve always wanted to to take the easier way out …

Actually, I just discovered this link …
https://creativepro.com/placing-all-the-pages-of-a-pdf-inside-indesign.php
But I believe this is for a recent version. I’m using the rapidly aging CS3 version. Is there shortcut in this old dinosaur?

I can’t remember if CS3 let you place INDD files into other INDD files… does it?
There is a CS3 version of the script… see the link in the article. -

Well, David … Based on what I’m doing the answer is “yes” … AND “no.”
If I created a blank document (300 pages), and I got to “place,” I can select an InDesign document. Check the “import options” box so you can see everything.
Now, the cursor loads with the document pages, and a PAINTBRUSH appears. Click and place a page.
Unfortunately, once I place the page, I can’t edit it. It appears like a graphic, but the links panel highlights both the Indesign document and any graphic contained within. So, apparently you can edit the original, and the link will update … it’s similar to editing a graphic in photoshop, and updating in InDesign.
Keep in mind, I’m still using CS3 …

Yes, that is the expected result (for all versions of InDesign). Placing an INDD into an InDesign doc acts like a graphic.
But I’m reading the original post and I’m confused:
- First of all, Lulu does not require Single-sided pages, and if they do say that they are wrong. You should have created this with facing pages. My guess is that they don’t want the PDF to be created as spreads (meaning use Pages rather than Spreads when exporting to PDF).
- If the document is already in non-facing pages, then do you have a single master page with Left and Right pages, or do you have 2 master pages that are both single sided?
- The best way to handle this is probably just to apply a different master page to all your odd pages (or even pages). It will take about 5 or 10 minutes to go through 150 pages, but that’s faster than messing around with these other options
