Hi everyone. I am a typesetter and work on iMacs at work. At home I have a MacBook Pro.

When I upgraded my MacBook Pro to High Sierra (and now Mojave) I had no problems running any InDesign program from CS4 to InDesign CC2019.

At work we are on iMacs (they are iMac 27-inch Late 2013 (3.5 GHz Intel Core i7). Since I upgraded my iMac to High Sierra last year it will only run InDesign CC2014 onwards.

Does anyone know what is causing the iMacs not to run anything from InDesign CC and earlier? We have to use the earlier programs unfortunately (I won’t bore you with the details), and so only my iMac has been upgraded to High Sierra at work. If I have to work in InDesign CC or earlier I have to go on an even older iMac that I normally use as a second screen.

It just seems odd that my laptop at home can run all the programs but the iMacs cannot.

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks for you help in advance.

Adobe regularly drops support for old operating systems.

See this article on the subject:

Should Adobe Fix Older Versions of Programs to Work with Newer Operating Systems?

My late 2012 iMac has upgraded to OS 10.14 and InDesign has gone up to v14 but the performance is terrible, jerky as hell. Older files that were fine are now slow to scroll, move elements etc, it’s driving me mad.
