Let’s say I have 100 page master document that I want to be able to print as either single side pages, or if need be print as double sided pages with a different master applied to the odd vs. even pages. Is there a way to quickly apply a master page to just the even pages rather than typing all the pages out 2,4,6,8,10…100 or rather than ctrl+shifting all the even/odd pages and then applying the master?

I look under the “Apply master” dialog box and the only option i find is “all pages” surprised they don’t have an apply to “even pages” or “odd pages” option.

      Thanks!

I don’t think there is a way to do it.

Personally though, I’ve never had to change just all even or just odd ones.

I suppose if there was a big demand for it, Adobe would have included it.

Maybe send them a feature request for the next version.

I haven’t found anything in InDesign that will let you do that. But copying and pasting multiples of 2 from this website can make things a whole lot easier.

Lydia is right, but if your list is longer than presented on her link you’ll need to make your own list of odd numbers, which is easy to do in Excel (=”cell above”+2, drag and repeat as needed).

Once I had a list of odd numbers I cut and pasted the table into TextEdit and converted to plain text (which stripped out the table). Then I ran a “find and replace” to change each line return into a comma (,).

The result was a comma separated list of odd numbers which I was able to cut and paste into the “Apply Master to Pages” function.

I guess having a list of odd/even numbers created in Excel would be nice, but I think Adobe should add the choice of odd/even pages to the “Apply Master to Pages” list. I can’t be the only person ever to have to add a blank page to a book and then have all the page numbers come out on the wrong side after that
