What’s the best workflow for producing an interactive PDF (with hyperlinks that display onscreen) and a non-interactive “Print” PDF of the same document to send to a printer (in which I do not want hyperlinks to display at all). I don’t want to maintain two versions of the same document, obviously — and I’m pretty sure I don’t need to — but I’m not sure how to proceed with that. The hyperlink issue is mainly with my TOC (which I’ve generated with the hyperlink issue turned on).
Also, while I’m on the subject of TOCs and hyperlinks, is there any way to edit the rectangular box that defines the target area of the link. Somehow my TOC got whacked and the hyperlink areas only occupy a part of the entry in some cases — the target doesn’t span the entire width of the TOC entry. But I can’t figure out how to edit the clickable area, short of refreshing the table completely, which I really don’t want to do because of some wonkiness I’m experiencing which case me to tweak the layout — a lot — because the data doesn’t flow in as expected. So I’ve got the table laid out exactly like I want it, but can’t edit these targets.
Thanks in advance.
T.
