      Hey,

Just a quick question: I placed a Word (docx) file in an ID file for a publication. The Word doc had about 50 hyperlinks. Now I nearly finished the pub and noticed all the hyperlinks did not come across right. The hyperlink panel shows a list of links, but all empty ‘https://..’. A bunch of them have red questionmark flags behind them. When I export the doc, the ‘linked’ text does not lead anywhere.

      So what happened here?

I tried placing the word doc in a fresh ID file and all hyperlinks show up properly in the hyperlink panel, so the Word file isn’t faulty. Something must have happened during placing or working on the ID file. I must say, this is a first time for me that something like this happens.

Any ideas how to quickly get them back without having to place and format the whole damn thing (or parts containing hyperlinks) again?

Weird! If the hyperlinks worked when you imported them, I can’t think of what would have messed them up. I doubt there is an easy way to fix them, other than one at a time.

      Thanks for responding David.

Now here’s two more questions about hyperlinks:

-I have an instance where some text is between brackets and the text is hyperlinked. By some mistake in the source Word doc, the closing bracket got included in the hyperlinking. How would I go about to remove the hyperlinking just from that bracket in the text? (For now I’d just edit the character style, but this way the bracket can still be clicked on)

-And related to this: is there a way to quickly find the said hyperlink in the hyperlinks panel? I have over 60 hyperlinks in the document, I really can’t find a way to find which hyperlink is which and I’ll be damned before I start counting links from the top of the doc.

Im on CS 5.5 by the way.
