I’m running into an issue with a nested TOC.

On my Kindle it is correctly formatted:

      – Chapter 1
      – Section 1.1
      – Subsection A
      – Subsection B
      – Section 1.2
      – Subsection A
      – Subsection B
      – Chapter 2
      – Section 1.1
      – Subsection A
      – Subsection B
      – Section 1.2
      – Subsection A
      – Subsection B

In iBooks it seems to only want to nest 2 levels, so I’m getting this:
      – Chapter 1
      – Section 1.1
      – Subsection A
      – Subsection B
      – Section 1.2
      – Subsection A
      – Subsection B

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Just now realizing that the formatting went wonky here. Basically I only have a 2-tiered TOC in ibooks, but the correct 3 tier on the Kindle.

      Hey Ronald,

Unfortunately all ereaders are not created equal, so some ereaders, like iBooks, only support 2 levels of nesting, while others, like Kindle, support 3 levels. Knowing this limitation I tend to try to keep my TOC nesting to about 2 levels, but I know that doesnt always work, especially with a case such as yours where that 3rd level that would easily help people dive down deeper to where they want/need to go in the book.

Thanks for the information Aaron. I searched high and low for TOC nesting support but couldn’t find anything anywhere. This is really helpful to know.
