You’ll need to use the plugin from DTP Tools. “Annotations” works with book files and is much more robust than the new PDF comment import feature in InDesign. That plugin alone is worth the cost of the entire subscription, yet you’ll get at least a dozen or so other tools with your subscription.
Hi Kelly. Does that Annotations plugin work with ID CC? Their site seems to show only up to CS6.

Yes it does. I use it almost every day in CC. But now it’s part of DTP Tools Cloud: https://www.dtptools.com/product.asp?id=dcid. I think it’s a subscription service, around $10/month. Worth every penny! I buy their Cloud just for this feature alone, but there are about a dozen other tools that come with it.
Thanks very much. I’m looking into it. I have a legal textbook with 23 chapters. This could be very useful.
