Hey Guys ! I am trying to do Index page for my working place, it’s a catalogue that is 300 pages long, with all different brand and so on. I was trying to figure it out for the last week, it’s taking me so long but I am nearly at the end of it.
There is just one thing that really annoys me. Basically I don’t know how to put Index in order by page number, and none of the youtube tutorials really work for me.
Basically what people do is they use the “SortParagraph” Script, but it work only if you have one number beside your topic. For Example
Nivea Pg3
Then you can set it in order easy. But my index looks like this. (Example underneath)
Nivea Pg3-13
Because there is two numbers (3-13), and Indesign does not sort the index for me. I have it nearly done. I just need it to be in order. Is there any other way of doing that ? There must be ?
and this
https://creativepro.com/sort-index-page-number.php
doesn’t work for me either
“Doesn’t work” isn’t a detailed description of a problem ;-)
First, there a more examples needed, that one line
Second, did you read the comments in Davids post?
It is surely not a problem to bring 3-13 to the front. The sorting order would then be 3 and so on.
best
Kai
