Hello everyone – I’m hoping to god someone can help me as I think I’m going crazy!

I’m basically following a Lynda tutorial on the correct way to set up a grid system, and even though I’ve followed the tutorial meticulously, I cannot recreate what the narrator magically does and it’s majorly stumped my progress.

I’ve found the section on youtube: (https://youtu.be/jWH6HDaMkMM?t=2m19s) He essentially switches on the baseline grid after setting up guides and margins, and then after closing the preferences pane, VOILA! – a beautifully aligned grid.

But this isn’t what I get at all. It isn’t aligned correctly. I’ve watched the video and after checking the maths… it SHOULD work, but it just doesn’t.

      Here is a comparison: https://s28.postimg.org/hatme4dnx/huh.png

I’m sorry for how long-winded this is but I’m stuck. I hope someone can help me!

      Thank you for your time

      Adam

I wonder if Nigel (who recorded that video) was using an A4 size page instead of a Letter size page? Or is he using Letter and you’re using A4?

      Hi David

      Thanks for your response

I have checked that our document page sizes match, and they do. He uses 209.55mm x 279.4mm.

      I’m completely stumped!
