In David’s Essentials for InDesign 2017 on Lynda.com, he says you can have as many links as you want but all have to point to the same destination. Does that mean just the same site, or the same page on the site with identical url? So could one link go to the home page and another to an internal page on the same site? They would be at the same destination but the url for internal page would be longer with additional letters and such.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Jackie, I didn’t recognise what do you mean when you write “all have to point to the same destination”.
In a PDF you can have many links with as many destinations as you want.
Did you try to create your links?
Hi, Claudio, thanks for responding.
At the time I asked, the website the client wanted the pdf links to go to wasn’t live, so I couldn’t test it on the actual site but could have, and should have tried it with another. When that site did go live, I did test it to various different pages within the same site, which is what they wanted, and it worked no problem.
That was the phrase Daivd used in his Essentials for 2017 In Design on Lynda — that all links would have to go to the same destination, and I was afraid that meant exact same url. Didn’t want to tell the client I could do that if I couldn’t. Maybe that was true of earlier versions but not now.
