I have recently upgraded to CC2015 from CS5. I create a magazine from articles that are each in individual ID files. To create the main file I open a second file(article) and ‘Move’ the pages into the main file. When I do it creates a new section each time. I do not want or need this and it is just a pain to have to go in each time and uncheck the start section box.
I saw a post about turning off creating a new section on ‘Move’ as a default setting but it was relating to CS6. Can it be set that way in CC? Unfortunately CS5 has already been removed from my pc so I cant transfer any settings or look at it there.
Having a heck of a time getting the new version working like the old. Deadline approaching…Thanks.

Hi Emma, it is always difficult, if someone in a forum must guess, what might happen. So please provide a example file (both files). Your behavior isn’t the standard. And yes, if something is possible within CS6, it is also possible in CC 2015.

Thanks for the quick reply. Problem is I cannot supply the files. Against company policy…yada yada….
All I am looking for is a way to set a default for not creating a new section when copying/moving pages.
Any help would be appreciated.Thanks. Emma

Emma, in dependance of your documents, it is normal that you get new sections. Otherwise right handed pages becomes left and so on. I’m not aware of any preference, that could disable this.

I just know that in CS5 I have been copying from the individual articles to the master file with absolutely no issues for at least 4 years. First time I try it with CC that’s what happens..
I have found a couple of posts on Adobe about it but not about changing it as a default. I can uncheck the Start Section box on each article but seems kind of stupid not to be able to set it as default since it obviously is behaving different than CS5
Thanks.
