      Hi all,
it seems I’ve found an InDesign bug that is creating some problem on a project for a customer.

I have a document with a table nested inside another table, the layer is locked but I’m able to find the text inside the nested table even if the “search on locked layer” is inactive.
I can also apply another paragraph style to the text inside the nested table (with the layer locked) and this is causing some problem because I need to change the styles of the text of unlocked layers with a script.

You can download a sample document and a screenshot here:

      Claudio,

What version of InDesign are you using? You might want to post this on the InDesign, InCopy and InDesign Server feedback forums that are monitored by Adobe’s engineers.

I can confirm this behaviour with ID 2018 (13.0.1).

        Thank you for your answers.

It happens with CC2017 and CC2018, I didn’t try with other versions.

Thank you Kai for the suggestions.
I’ll post the problem in the Adobe’s forum.

Claudio, if you control your styles with a script, you can exclude those tables. Of course your script must maybe built slightly different, e.g. with ‘alert(app.selection[0].parent.parent.parent);’ you get different results, if your cursor is placed in the outside (result is a textframe) or inner table (result is a cell).

So you could loop through every paragraph and check the parent elements.

      Kai
