I typically create books that begin with a cover and a copyright page. I do not want any page numbers on those pages, so I apply the None master page to them. Then, I select the 3rd page (which has a master page with page numbers in the footer) and go to Numbering and Sections Options, select Start Page Numbering at: and enter “1” so that my 3rd page is page number 1. My problem is that when I export it and try to print it from Adobe Acrobat, page number 1 is the cover and not the actual page number 1. Is there a way to fix this?

Seems normal. It isn’t because you don’t put numbers on the pages that they don’t export as a page. What you can do, is adding a section prefix from page “3” (your page number 1). That way you can export the pages using the prefix as a delimiter. The pages 1 and 2 will not be exported.

It might be simpler to change the style of numbering for the two initial pages to something else. Lower-case roman numerals is usual for frontmatter, and Acrobat will use them even if those pages are blank — Acrobat will know the 3rd page as (arabic-nuymeral) 1.

David Goodrich, your method worked! I changed the first two pages to i and ii. Now, while I can still print the cover and copyright page, I can also skip those and begin printing on page 1. Thanks!
