Hello,
I’m a seasoned designer having been in this industry for around 7 years, however I’m a keen learner and interested in reading some good design books on topics such as: Use of space, typography, colour, layouts, prioritising content…
I have looked on Amazon but sadly I keep finding abstract art graphic design books and I’m more into practicality rather than expressing my emotions in an art museum way.
Thank you.

A good introduction is Robin William’s “The Non-Designer’s Design Book”, which covers all of the topics you mention.

I have a book shelf that is mostly full of design books. The following are the ones I find most useful:
Creativity for Graphic Design – This book doesn’t talk about specific design techniques but provides info that you need to know about the designer/client relationship. Man I wish they made me read this book in school rather then have to learn some things the hard way.
Making and Breaking the Grid
White Graphics
Typography Workbook
Letterhead and Logo Design 9
100 Habits of Successful graphic designers
Fingerprint
GraphicDesign/Seattle
Color Design Workbook
Real World InDesign
The New Big Book of Color
Web Design Index by Content (Neat book since it contains a DVD of all the content in the book. No need to worry about not being able to access certain web sites when they get updated to different designs since it is all in the book.) -

There are other services that actually use bound mix color for their print designs which can also be use on virtual design like for many web and graphic designs online, which eventually you can learn more of that aspects if you read some details here https://www.digitekprinting.com/bound-mix-color. Try at Digitek Printing, they also have several books pertaining to design modules.
