Unknown plugin-reference

I have a book file containing app. 2000 InDesign documents. I need to syncronize the date, but there is a missing plug-in, so I cannot syncronize. I made a test where I made an IDML file and saved it (that worked), but with so many documents I will never finish.

I need to remove the plugin-reference, I make this catalogue 2 times every year!

There must be an easier way????

You might be able to export all of them to IDML with Peter Kahrel’s Batch script:

…or try to find that plug-in? What is it?

      Thanks for feed-back.

My problem is that if I get IDML-files of all my files, then I will have app. 2000 untitled InDesign-files.
Not sure I can get all filenames right.

I think it would be nice if I could ‘save as’ – and the plug-in reference is gone!

Jette, only idml can “wash” the file. If you interested in a individual (paid) script, please mail me directly at: [email protected]

Jette, I make a short test with Peters batch processor: So if you use his script, a idml-file will get the name from the indd-file. So in a second step, you can use also Peters script to create indds from your idmls. After that, select all your new indds and create a book.

Kai, this was really helpful. I now succeeded in converting to IDML.
In second step I choose to convert from IDML to INDD, but I get an error: “Object is invalid (186) – Problem closing”
When I open the document manually it looks fine, but is named “Untitled” so that is not an option.

Did you manage to save the files automatically with the right filenames?

Jette, I used indd to package and checked idml. If I use then the second step, I get no error, the new indd is created and the name of the idml is honored.

Is it possible for you to try to convert one of my INDD-files?
If yes, you can write your e-mail address to me, [email protected] and I will send it to you.
