  1. Small typo:

    Should say:

  2. I didn’t see it Adobe’s FAQ, is the subscription version linked for the length of your subscription contract (meaning that you’re subscribing to CS5.5, not “the Creative Suite”? Or (as I would presume) do you get to update to CS6 as soon as it comes out, even if you’re in the middle of your contract?

Also, as not all versions are perfectly backwards compatible, I wonder how Adobe will handle being able to open legacy files in the future, if your subscription forces you to use only the current version? I suppose service bureaus will have to do both, so they can keep at least one non-subscription version of each version around so they can still service all of their customers.

In the end, I suppose, the value of the subscription model will depend on how aggressively (meaning how frequently) Abode updates the major versions of its software and how much of the Creative Suite you use. If you only use Indesign (personally, I only have need of and love using Indesign and Photoshop, but have less than zero use for the rest) and they only update it every year and half to two years, you’ll loose money. If you regularly use the whole Suite, you’ll save money.
